Exploring the
heights of the Faroe Islands

Slættaratindur

Per- Hike
We absolutely loved the hike! As someone from the Faroe Islands who has spent a lifetime exploring these mountains, I honestly wasn’t sure Slættaratindur could still surprise me. But this hike did exactly that — it reminded me why this landscape never stops feeling magical.

The climb was steady and rewarding, the views opened up little by little, and reaching the top felt like stepping into another world. Standing on the highest point in the Faroe Islands with the whole archipelago spread out beneath us was nothing short of breathtaking.

The atmosphere was calm, the air was crisp, and the sense of space was incredible. It’s one of those experiences that stays with you long after you’ve come back down.

I can recommend this hike to anyone looking for a truly unforgettable Faroese adventure.

A fantastic hike from start to finish.

Even though I’ve grown up with these mountains, the walk up Slættaratindur still felt special. The trail was clear, the views opened up quickly, and standing on the highest point in the Faroe Islands was simply incredible.

There’s something about seeing the islands stretch out in every direction that never gets old.
